See thread and ticket about excessive bouncyness.

This has secondary effects. Units now become stuck on terrain much more often whereas they did not in some earlier versions. There is also the factory unit launcher exploit.

The worst thing with a bouncing is when your unit bounces from your building and falls from cliff into an area were it cant come back...
For this reason it is hard to reliably build windgen farm on a hill because cons gen randomly thrown down from the hill...

I was jsut wandering if you guys ever considered going back to pathing like it used to be about 3 or 4 years ago (0.78) if i remember well, time where pathing was quite good according my own Xp, or if you consider it was also bad ?

it had it's issues.

when you lot say pathing, you don't really describe that, it is usually the unit behavior set or the pathfollower. Instead of demanding reverts just list the actual issues. Odds are it is behaviors and not necessarily the pathfinder.

Pathing was horrific, and we had bugs that pushed units into buildings so they got stuck. I remember many times building a long row of metalmakers to tst AI and having conbots get pushed into the row and be stuck. I've an animated gif of a hawk in a death spiral stuck in a wind gen somewhere

which distribution are you? most major distributions should already have build packages... for example ubuntus ppa has 85.0 as package...

The Debian package is available for 10 days and went into the testing distribution (wheezy) today.

I need the MT version to work. I have 4 slow cores and the old MT version was great, but the new version of MT is broken.

If you get a good build of the MT exe please tell me.

Please make sure that the MT version is not broken in the next release as I really like Spring.

Mt is not the main branch of spring it is the side project of one dev, please understand that he cannot ensure that it will be ready at the release date of the main engine. Or, start helping him code it.

Patience, 85.1 is coming.

You can build your own fixed MT today by applying this commit
https://github.com/spring/spring/commit ... 4e98cb9669
to the 85.0 tag.

It is part of the main branch, but you are correct that I am the only one trying to keep it alive really.

just hate when people are putting undue pressure on you, yet they don't want to help. I am sure there are at least 10 programers here who do nothing to help and have no projects but love to make demands

Thanks zerver.

It was not a demand it was a request. I am a developer as well just not a Spring expert. So I understand the pains of multi threaded code in c++.

I would be part of the project, but I don't code in c++ very often. I would only code something if I could make money from it.

If you start, you will be amazed at how soon you will have passed a year, 2 years 3 years coding in c++ you will never code in C++ if you didn't start.

Damn shame that this is your attitude.

If you get your spouse or your dad to hand you a cent everyday, you got a good excues to code everyday. Now that i think, never seen programmers doing a strike or union (lack of overlapping interests to concatenate, i dont think soo).. this stuff is highly addictive
"Today the crack addicted gathered in the street to protest the rising prices! They threatend continued substance abstinence too the DealersUnitedInterests!STRIKE!"

"BOOLSHIT, bro!" claims the spokesman of the DUI.
The only thing that is short in supply on my side- is time to code. I got a dysfunctional clock, who constantly jumps from 11:00 Morning to 1:10 at night. I promise you all, one day i get it shifting and then..

I have been giving a hard time in the last release threads, but that has been because the releases have been buggy.

Now i would like to give out a big thank you for this release, Spring actually is working again!! I have not experienced one single issue with spring 85 that i would need to report as a critical flaw. There are of course the usual glitches, most notably pathfinding, but all in all this is one heroic release!

MT is a whole another issue i guess, but that does not concern me since i have not yet collected the bravity to wander into that territory ;)

Hi there, downloaded that version because me and a Friend got a couple of desyncs after about 30-40 Minutes of playing.

Seemed to run fine until the game locked up on my site (complete Lock, not a sudden CTD) - no error windows popped up.

It seems most of the Info needed is written into the log (CPU Capabilities, Graphics card, available System RAM, OS ...)

None of this stuff has any custom overclock applied.

Game used was Tech Annihilation 2.16 on Supreme Battlefield Map with 3 Bots (2 ARM and 1 Core).

Are any information about the game setup needed (max amount of units, which checkboxes are ticked, etc?)

Heres a pastebin Link for the whole log http://pastebin.com/WThKSDVs

If you need any more information, let me know.
