Summary0003641: Per piece collision volumes result in invincible units
DescriptionTank fires at target, and shot is intercepted by the unit's legs and no damage is dealt, even though the shot hits one of the pieces of the unit.

Problem seems to exist in S44 too

All tanks e.g. gerpanther, gertiger, rusis2 takes no damage from turret hits. Best would be to checkout latest svn (https://sourceforge.net/p/spring1944/code/3801/tree/trunk/S44Main.sdd/) as it has a fix to game_armor gadget (new param for UnitPreDamaged) but any version should allow to see this (e.g. http://spring1944.net/files/Build/S44v162_MostIII.sdz ). Difficulty is in actually getting a turret hit, you can tweak the gadget to echo them as it is already setup to count them.

tested per piece model and ground transported per piece models :
both are fully functionnal : the unit die after damage at random pieces
(using lazer , artillery ,vertical missiles
each model piece seem do deal correct damage amount and transported unit piece are targeted too and give damage to unit when hit
now the ground transported unit die before the transporter and seem not a favorit to be targeted
the nearest i presume is sighted : piece or unit
mabe you need make your tests without gadget widget and damage modifiers

I believe it may be to do with relative size of unit, distance of piece from centre, AoE of weapon etc

upload your model file and i wll test using lazer or what weapon you want

 test the model oustide of your massive modifiers

 its maybe not related to basic perpiece but maybe at some interactions with it
