Summary0002102: 3do units without custom hitspheres are too large
DescriptionIn 0.82.x 3do, units, that don't have hitspheres specifically defined, have much bigger hitspheres than they had earlier. Also much larger than looks sensible in most cases.

Units are much easier to hit, and have much harder time shooting over friendlies, affecting gameplay a lot if a game has such units.

Change back to pre-0.82. method of calculating them

Sorry, not going to happen.

3DO hitspheres were being scaled down by some arbitrary magic constant (which still left many of them too large) prior to this release, and such constants don't belong in the engine. Plus mods have had the ability to set independent sizes for two years.

For any mod using only 3DO's without custom volumes (like BA), the following trivial gadget restores the old spheres: http://pastebin.com/gdXpegYP
