Hi,
this thread is meant to be a place for all noobs like me to ask questions.
So not everyone has to hijack other threads or open innumberable different ones.
So, here is my first one:
I began a new model, because the older ones all are so messed up, that i will need very much time, to redo them.
In this new models Ive got different objects and i uv-mapped them in different maps...how can i collect them together?
Because upspring does only accept one map, as far as i know...
?
Thanks in advance!

btw i use wings, erm...does spring seperate the objects if they exceed a certain level??
If i scale the objects down, they could fit in the uv-map altogether?

There already is a thread like this.

which thread do you mean? freshened up TA units?

Object scale and UV scale are independent. Also I've always said that multiple textures per unit would be a good thing but some people claim that it's not an issue if you plan far enough ahead just like other people claim we don't need more functions in the script because there are slow, ugly workarounds to do the same things...

The thread I meant was in mods... forget about it.
I setup my models after finishing the UV map.

every part of the ENTIRE single model, has to be on the same UV map. regardless. There is no going around this.

yep, i know that and yesterday i found the passage that says: combine objects ->uv-map -> split objects

I never do that. I do the UV map for each part and when I'm done, I combine the whole model and edit the UVs then for all parts. At first I do a (scale->)normalize, then I scale everything down. Wat's left is arranging everything so it fits in the map and that there's enough spacing between the maps. This step consumes the most time for me.
