Minmetal tag (or similar)

Basically, a minmetal tag (or similar) that means unit (for the sake of open-endness, this unit should not have to be a mex) can only be built on an area with the desired minimum of metal or above.

For example, this would mean that:
Mexes that can only be built on mex spots. This is useful for mods with specialist mexes. For example:
As a way of limiting building space / base size, the com can build mexes and basic stuff (like energy structures etc). The mexes build the more important stuff like factories or the heavier defences, a bit like EE hubs but slightly limited

At current, the only way we can do this now is with geo spots - the same system as described above, but with a geothermal instead.

You could make buildings that self-d upon creation when no metal is present as a workaround until it's implemented.

this would be cool so +1 however for it to work youd need it to be possible for a mex to build stuff at all.. as currently a mex cannot be a mex and a factory/con unit.. they are mutually exclusive..

why?

plus, a unit doesn't necessarily have to be a mex to have this tag, surely?

Because Spring uses different classes for mexes and factories and neither supports the actions of the other.

no it wouldnt, Im just saying that if you would like to make a metal extractor that also acts as a builder of any sort it is currently not possible, the 2 tags overrule eachother.. if metal extraction exists all building tags are not used..

Im not saying this tag is a bad idea, I wholely support it Id like to have a way to limit where buildings are built, this would be great for say making it so that a metal extractor could only be built on metal or a certain metal and then making it just give a set rate to avoid having issues with differing metal on different maps..
