is it only me or the lobby is disconnacting every (maximum) 15 secunds, + almost impossible to connact at the start.

(my opinion) the new version makes spring suck ass.

have a nice day.

-Do you have 0.74b2 installed?
-Does your firewall allow Spring to acces teh internets?
-Is your connection fast/stable enough?

That's all I can think of right now.

1 - yes

2 - yes

3 - yes (3mb)

edit:

few secunds after connacting:

[9:00:35 PM] Timeout assumed. Disconnecting ...
[9:00:35 PM] Connection to server closed!

After 20 seconds of no ping replies from the server, the client disconnects.

Your internets phail.

yet firefox still works?!?
so that means I'm still connected to the internet
I have this problem with X-fire as well sometimes
but it never happened in the older versions of spring

If you have this problem with other things too this isn't the right forum for the thread.

Maybe malware/spyware/virus is causing it.

Could be your network setup.

And it could also be your ISP.

using wireless connection from your connection to ur PC? Anyway, since Xfire is also having the same problem, the problem's not Spring related :)

I know (well i think i do) that the problem with xfire is to do with tiscali trying to limit file sharing apps after 19:00 :(
The problem must be with something which has ONLY appeared in the latest version of spring client. Cant see anything suspicious in the changelog though.:?:

And yes i am using wireless, and yes i do sometimes lose the the connection
but then nothing works and thats not happening in this case.

The spring lobby has much less tolerance for latency than a download.

I'm quite sure this problem is nothing to do with latency. I've been on spring with the ping consistently around 600 and had no problems (except for a bit of lag).

Latency has little to nothing at all to do with performance/connection issues, especially if spring lobby uses UDP. Basically, what actually matters about a connection is lost packets.

Hmm, the problem has changed now.
I now get the connection timing out after 30 sec. even if i manage to log on to the server.

Found out something else.

I actually managed to get on the lobby for long enough to get into the game, everything working fine, then about halfway through the game it says:

"L0223R disconnected from Lobby (connection timed out)"

BUT i was still connected to the game and could play it fine.

Of course when I came out of the game the lobby wasn't working so i couldn't get onto a new game.

This problem is very annoying and is almost definitely to do with the spring lobby and i (and probably a few others) would be grateful if someone could please fix it.

Hmmm..now that I think about it, your client is acting a bit like mine does when it's been logged in for excessive amounts of time and/or in spammy bot-debug channels. It starts getting memory leaks, and slows down considerably - eventually to the point of being unable to send PING in time.

except mine doesn't even log on most of the time.

Yes, I get that also in that state. After timing out due to slowness, it's unable to connect as its PINGs time out during the fairly large data transfer of logging in. Restarting the client fixes it for me though.

I've tried installing an old version of the client, it just says

Connection Established to taspringmaster.clan-sy.com

then it times out. it doesn't even say that i need to update the client to the new version.
