Map Request

If any mappers are looking for something to do, here's a request:

Though i like that map, the lego bumps are gigantic.
I would like to see a 12x12 or 16x16 map with regularly sized lego bumps. So several dozen of them would fit in the footprint of a unit. And as for colors, standard lego brick colors would be great because i want this to look like it's being played on a big lego baseplate.
I have several lego textures already made, but they are very very small because im using them for my Lego Spring mod.
Anyways, just a thought.

What do you think of the scale now? Want bigger or smaller?

Is that map format 2 or 3?

It's the current map format, not the new. Why?

That looks fantastic! I didnt think anyone would actually make one. Thanks!
I suppose texture stretching on the sides of the elevated parts is due to the engine, and unfixable?
Also, that first screenshot looked great too.

Yea, it's kind of unfixable. Because the texture maps are projected from straight up.
I thought about an option if I could make the steep places have no texture at all, but that doesn't work because I use the detail texture, which must be everywhere.
If I used normal texture to make the bumps, I couldn't get anywhere near the detail level I have now. Either the bumps would be unnaturally big, or smudgy and blurry.
To do:
-Make colors brighter.
-Place metal.
-?????

Is it possible to have slightly less slope to the hills? But then i suppose that would completely your map concept

It's possible. Nevermind the textures on this pic, but it could look something like this anyways.

We can place some brick models on the map in such a way as to hide the ugly bits, it works pretty well from the experiments I've done... check out the turrets in gundam annihilation to see how it looks... I'll have a look at doing so when I have a day off again.

you might ask smoth, as it is his map.

Well, we will probably want to come up with a whole new set of maps for the lego mod... for now the detail tex can be put in the mod file and make EVERY map look lego-ish.

I could really use some small lego block features, could someone make, or even have already at their disposal?

The top should be 1 quad / 2 tris, right? Specially if it's going to be a spammable feature. And the sides can be culled as well.
In terms of the model, though, it looks nice. What program are you using?

Nice, nice. Are you going to make features of them and release?

Well that doenst mind alot.. it maby is like 0.01 speed or what..
Like you can make a model of high poly or low poly that doesnt really mind for a feature... (i think) because it dont need to path it.. maby 1 time.. (maby i am wrong) ..
