You can probably still find people if you join the lobbyserver. But there was a lot of drama around a fork, see
viewtopic.php?t=49691. Major games (BAR, ZK) moved to their own lobbyservers and most of the community discussion now happens on their and the engine fork's respective discords and/or githubs.

Hi Sprunk,
yes I had read something about "dramas" and I don't want to open any more.
I'm talking about using Spring to create a game, not playing games.
My thought is that games like "BAR" and "ZeroK", are games (beautiful games). Spring is an engine for creating games, if the spring community is dead, the possibility of creating new ones also dies.
I need information on how to create a script for my game.
But if so, can I find information on the problems I encounter with SPRING ENGINE on the BAR and ZeroK communities?

BAR, Zero-K, Metal Factions, and others, games that ran in the past on Spring engine, are no longer using Spring engine, but a
fork of Spring engine called Recoil, which is also very actively developed, (for example, within last month: "Excluding merges, 13 authors have pushed 56 commits to master", source:

You can get help about issues with Recoil engine in those communities.

YUP, looks pretty dead to me. I guess everyone died of old age.
Yeah, at least the engine still lives on in various spinoffs.
BAR seems to be gaining some pretty decent traction recently, keeping the legacy of all these absolute legends on this forum alive, albeit with a different name.
This community played a big part in my younger years, even though I was mostly a lurker. I did some pretty insane experiments with the engine in singleplayer, created a bunch of funky units and generally messed around with it, was fun and educational. I just last week whipped out my original Total Annihilation CD and taught my 7 y/o daughter how to play the game
I sometimes come back here and lurk some more, for a sweet sweet hit of nostalgia, it's nice to see that the forum still exists after almost 20 years, most of the websites I used to know back then are long gone by now.. I guess the day this website won't load any more is when I will officially feel old.
