What are you gonna balance after? Or is it gonna be standalone, Talon vs Talon?

no, we feel that AA's assortment of units with inconsistent styles does not fit with talon. talon units all have the same style

talon+tll could easily become a replacement XTA once the texture/sound stuff is sorted out......

Just an FYI, XTA is not very popular and many claim it's inbalanced. Are you gonna edit XTA balance to fit Talon?

The same could be said of AA, it's a matter of preference, as some would say XTA is more balanced, and that AA is more rock paper scissors than they can stand, albeit tere always being more to it than that.

Were a mod unbalanced in favor of a defensive structure, one would expect longer game times relative to other mods, which does not seem to be observed in the case you mention.

You just havent figured out the tactics to counter hlt's in XTA. Try hitting them with ravens/diplomats/merals/dominators from afar for a safe option.
Also, toasters and ambushers outrange them.

AA and XTA have different ideologies. AA favors balance through complexity, XTA favours simplicity. This makes XTA harder to balance because changing one large, universal simple rule has many more unintended consequences than tweaking tiny, detailed rules.
Personally, I think the real reason for AA's popularity is the additional units. If XTA had the long list of new units, it would be the more popular mod. Thus, if someone were to add 3 or 4 new factions to XTA (say, the Xect, the Talon, the Rumad, etc.) I think it would gain in popularity.

personally, i'd rather have this for one of the ota mods, but for less than obvious reasons, the spring community has a perplexing aversion to anything ota, especially considering XTA, AA and countless other most popular mods are ota variants. unless I was wrong about the hatred of the OTA mods, XTA will do.

You can try to add it to the lost legacy ( tll ) and have a two independant races mod.
Or to the tll mods wich is working pretty well ( and then have 4 races ).
I dont remeber who ported it... NOiZE ?
( Surely, I would play an ota mod with those two races added ! )
( Of course, if there is some server .. not like EE

)

Sexiest Spring mod ever. I was wondering when TRO's leet skillz would make the leap.
Keep in mind - these are not UVMapped; old fashioned 3do. They looked sweet in TA, in Spring - this looks pro. I'd pay for this shit if the engine was cleaned up
