Anyway. The forums are to help eachother, not to offend others. Frustration about newcommers is to be flushed away on the battlefield, not by words.

If we moved to voice forums we would rapidly loose a great many players/community members due to the whole some people have annoying voices, some people get annoyed by weird little things.. etc..

The problem with the spring community is that a significant amount of us post the first thing that pops into our head. And don't make any sort of conscious effort to avoid offending other posters.

I hope that the significant amount does not include me... But I suspect that it might.

In regards to helping new mappers in particular... I only get irritated when someone who is learning to map tells me that I'm wrong.

Being wrong is subjective to what you are discussing. I am speaking of ways that you do maps, such as mapconv. Bleh, impossible to explain what I mean.

I don't know everything there is to know about mapping, however I do know more than a good many people do. It's a damn good thing we have weaver, mufdvr, noize, cheesescan (who got really smart about mapping really quickly, I am extremely impressed), etc, because these guys are always trying out new stuff, as am I, and the knowledge they provide is absolutely invaluable.

This is actually one of the nicer forums I've been on.

Don't get me started with the Oblivion forums. Every other thred was about how much Oblivion sucked. After a few seconds I gave up and left.

People here are actually nice. Ish. A little. Don't let it go to your heads.
