(In regards to AA 2.1)

What exactly is a "stealthy" unit? Like the Arm Hawk or Rector. I assumed it meant they could not be seen on radar, but after a quick test I found that's not the case. They certainly can't cloak, so what's stealthy?

they can't be seen on radar and it works fine!

You sure you didn't had los?

Anything marked as stealthy can't be seen on radar by opponents. If they can, then it's a Spring bug and needs to be reported.

hmmm, I guess I somehow had LOS. Which brings me to a question about LOS. pressing L I see a brighter colored circle and a darker colored one, what do they represent?

We're not quite sure.

The brighter colored one is where you have LOS, we know that.

In fact, we're discussing it in another thread at this moment.

We can usually see aircraft and attacks in the outer circle, but we really have no idea why.

Stealth affects both radar and sonar.. should prolly lobby to change that..

however its affect on sonar is far far far worse.

IMO underwater units should be able to see even stealthed or radar-jammed underwater units if they're in LoS, the same way it works with land units. The way things are now is just a result of Cavedog's never using sonar jamming (besides one single broken unit they released near the end of the game's official lifespan)
