ubuntu 11?

hi, simple question:

is installation/compiling of springrts possible on new ubuntu 11.04?
or should i stay with ubuntu 10.04 lts version?

couldn't find infos about 11.04 on download area of this site...

It isn't explicitly stated in the wiki but on ubuntu 11.04 you install from the ppa just the same as previous versions.

Although personally I wouldn't recommend upgrading. Non-LTS ubuntu releases are basically betas for the LTS.

not really, the LTS versions ARE more stable but if you're a real sucker for stability you should just use Debian Stable

apart from possible stability issues, and newer software versions, the main "benefit" of ubuntu 11 is Unity (now the default Desktop ... thing), which makes the OS feel much more mac'y, and kind of optimized for netbooks/small screens. of course you can just log in with Gnome classic, and then change some other minor things to get the same look and behavior again.

i found the lack of customization in Unity a turn-off...

i use XFCE for my desktop

Unity is interesting, but feels like a WIP. (Imagine that.)

the ppa runs fine on ubuntu 11.04.

self compiling works, but you can't play online: it desyncs, so use the ppa!
