You see, religion is like a penis. Its great for you that you have one, but, please, keep it to yourself, and PLEASE don't try to shove it down my throat.

Well, dwarves don't really believe in much of an afterlife. No hells, no monsters, none of that. But they like the idea of not being empty-handed in the event that the afterlife happens to believe in dwarves.

I keep many notes links picture but never saw the point in keeping or even reading many quotes...unless they are funny or something.

I had a friend who constantly quoted me these dime a dozen quotes...
If one is to take these quotes seriously than imo people usually know whats the right thing to do, they just lack the willpower to actually do it.

I see knowledge and wisdom in them. Small pearls you encounter in your life.

Not necessarily, given that fetuses have the full 46 set of human chromosomes while sperm only have 23, so while it is biologically feasible to classify human fetuses as human, the same can't really be said of sperm alone. (Ignoring for the moment cases such as Down Syndrome)

THIS. Except, I don't laugh as much as get incredibly pissed off that people would accept politicians as a better authority on climate change than climate scientists.

As far as my favourite quotes go, this is one I am particularly fond of:
Douglas Adams wrote:Anything that is in the world when youÔÇÖre born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. Anything thatÔÇÖs invented between when youÔÇÖre fifteen and thirty- five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. Anything invented after youÔÇÖre thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

This is one of my favorite quotes and there are more that I like, but I don't really keep up with them as well as I do other interests of mine:

"It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul."

This quote is from Invictus.

I wouldn't really classify a fetus during the first trimester as a person, though. You can't detect a heartbeat until after week 5, only the very early structures of the brain and spinal cord have formed (as in those that are preparing the nerves needed to control the functions of future organs that will be in the body), and many of the other organs haven't developed at all. Plus, when a woman has a miscarriage, people don't tend to classify that as the woman's body murdering a child.

Here's a nicer standard (IMO):
Life is cheap and common. Happiness is not.
Value the latter, not the former.

All cells in the human body contain 46 chromosomes, including skin cells, meaning that having 46 chromosomes should not be the only factor used to determine whether or not a living thing is human. People shed dead skin cells all the time.

To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.
-Elbert Hubbard

You have enemies? Good. That means youÔÇÖve stood up for something, sometime in your life.
-Winston Churchill

And my fav.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
-Robert A. Heinlein

Miscelanous quotes:

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.

For some reason it wont let me add .tex files as well which is sad (and odd) so its included and renamed as .txt, its the source and a bit easier to copy out of.

In any case, I think of quotes as being a great way of storing and distilling ideas.

These should keep you going for a while regret ; )

The problem comes from dependencies. One has to be alive to be happy, unless you believe in afterlife.
