Before you all say it, I know this has been brought up many times before, including by me a long long time ago. I did do a search and found no real response or solution to the problem.
I wanted to know if hosting replays ever got fixed or if there is a work around to get it to work?
The problem as it always has been: Shortly into any replay on any map using any game where anything happens, the replay will desync and units will start doing things they never did in the real game. This happens to the units of all players in the replay, every player watching the replay see's the desyncing, but are not desynced from the hosted game themselves. It even desyncs if you are the only person watching the replay. It works fine locally.
The common denominator seems to be that the replay is being hosted. This problem has been here for years, I remember dealing with it and posting about it years ago and never got a response.
Hopefully someone can say something other than "It's broken and will never be fixed".
Thanks,
Grim

Re: Replay Hosting with TASClient
Springlobby doesn't support replay hosting AFAIK and most (or all) spring devs use it, so I guess it just won't be fixed.
Re: Replay Hosting with TASClient
You are correct, Spring Lobby does not support replay hosting. That's just 1 more out of a billion reasons why Spring Lobby is horrible compared to TASClient. I don't understand why anyone would use it over TAS (besides the fact that TAS no longer works on linux). I'm sure if enough people started using it again that linux support could come around again.Satirik wrote:Springlobby doesn't support replay hosting AFAIK and most (or all) spring devs use it, so I guess it just won't be fixed.

If you could put more than two thoughts together you'd be able to deduce that other people come up with their own "billion reasons" not to use Tasclient. Perhaps it's not Springlobby that's horrible, but your cognitive abilities.Grimshad wrote:You are correct, Spring Lobby does not support replay hosting.
