Gound Scar Control: TrueFalse or an Alpha value

Request for control of ground scar alpha or alternatively an true/false (to turn off scars) tag via weapon def. Default should obviously be to how it currently behaves as not to effect other games. Would this be a difficult or conflicting feature?

It is pretty annoying when specialty weapons, that aren't supposed to do damage, leave explosion scars.
