Tracks disappear from Ground when tilting camera (?)

When I tilt the camera, the tracks left by units disappear. The flatter the view, the more visible they are.
It seems the wider the track the more noticeable it is. Happens in all games. Changing terrain view radius (pos1/end key) only influences on real low settings like 1-8, changing it in a sensible range (20-60) does nothing

Would like to know if other players get this too and it is just how it works in spring or if its ie a gfx driver thing..

Type /wiremap to see why. All decals use real heightmap coordinates, and not the LOD-ed versions.

ah, nice command :)
is there a reason why decals (i guess mapmarks too) can not use the lod-ed versions to prevent this?

on wiremap, tracks do no disappear :shock:
So it is because decals use real coordinates but textures dont?
