spring runs too slow and laggy on my computer.
I have a great Asus laptop with windows 7. It meets all the Spring requirements, but when I launch spring it runs super slow and laggy. I have tried changing the graphics quality to its lowest but it still doesn't work. Pleas help me!!!!
Re: spring runs too slow and laggy on my computer.
what are the actual specs of the laptop?

Try using multithreaded Spring. That way, even if your simulation can't keep up, you will still get a reasonable framerate (and be able to scroll, etc.).

Minimum to play decently is modern 3+ghz CPU, and very fast graphics card with 1GB of RAM.
Then you can get > 20FPS at high details most of the time.
Laptops with integrated cards are off the table.

aren't ION chips used in Atom based systems mainly? (they are CPU limited anyway).
Re: spring runs too slow and laggy on my computer.
Yes, it runs on ION, and it starts with an acceptable frame rate.
Like hoi said, machines with ION are typically netbooks, that tend to have Intel Atom CPU or similar, which is not going to win any 8V8BADSD games

For some reason it started working again, maybe because I installed the new 0.82.7.

I play on an integrated card laptop on a 1.9 ghz just fine, but then again I don't have a million widgets running at once.

No, just a single core 3ghz+ will do fine (dual core would be better so that windows can mess with itself on the other core but whatever).Basil_pup wrote:You mean Core i5\i7 + Gf GTX 470 ?Licho wrote:Minimum to play decently is modern 3+ghz CPU, and very fast graphics card with 1GB of RAM.

As far as gfx cards go, just a decent nvidia card will do fine. Until recently I played on max settings with a 9600GT, now I have a 450 GTS SuperClocked thingy.
