Download
here.
Basically does what it looks like it does. Make sure to place it in the folder containing mapconv.exe.
Report any bugs to here and I'll get on them right away.
Enjoy.
/edit/ Just realised it still said LinkSixteen Port Scanner on the title bar, I just forgot to change it.
It was built off
http://code.glowdot.com/index.php, a brilliant win32 tutorial if any of you are interested. /edit/

w00tness! Just one question: I use Mother's Mapconv.exe, how do I change the frontend to run mmapconv.exe?

Have you tried just running it with it as is?
If that doesn't work could mother exlain as to what has been changed?

The plain vanilla mapconv.exe automatically makes trees and grass where the map is green. I tried mapconv.exe with CorrosivePits and I got forests in my acid pools, so it definitely does not cut it for me.

Isn't that done with a couple of different colours on the metal map? If so it should work just fine.
/edit/ I just checked the wiki, seems mother has added another file. No matter, I'll make a compatible version right away.
/edit-2/ Ok so I've added compatability with mothers mapconv, if you don't want to use the feature map just leave the box unchecked and it'll be ignored.
You can download it
here.
As before report any bugs here and I'll get on them right away. Enjoy.

Please add option to NOT include typemap! I have no idea what a typemap is and can find no explanation for it except a very small tidbit concerning red channels and types in the .smd files. It says it can be ignored and will become default 0 so please if you could make that an option... I'd love you much,

a typemap is a definition of what type of land each part of the map is.
Create a .bmp the same size as your heightmap, now with r=1, g=50, b=50 paint on it some areas where you want certain units to move slower than others. i.e. Sand.
Once you compile the map, you can edit in the .smd file what each terrain actually does (you decide how much it slows down KBoT's, Vehicles and Hovercraft). So r=0 is the default terrain, r=1 is the next one etc.
