Spring RTS Engine

Hi, almost everytime a game finishes I get the stats page up (if I'm lucky) and then the system goes to a black screen. This happened on Fedora 12 with and Nvidia 6600 card and now I have a new machine with a new Nvidia 210 card on Fedora 13 and the same thing happens. I'm assuming a file is corrupt some where but I don't know which one.

If it helps fault finding quite often after this the fonts the next time I start up are totally unreadable. They are not letters or blurred they are simple straight lines of varying thicknes, bit like a barcode really.

I'm going to attempt a complete reinstall and remove all files tonight if I get time but I thought I would ask if anyone knows what this is as I think I will go insane if it still does it after the reinstall :)

Well I tried a complete reinstall with exactly the same effect. If I can get the game to exit normally, usually by quitting out before it finishes, and if the game hasn't been running to long, I can get a clean exit. If I do this no black screen and readable fonts next game. Otherwise I get a black screen and unreadable fonts. That is with a new profile (no spring, springlobby or springrc) and new maps mods etc. A friend has FC13 with Spring installed and no issue so it is my machine. Once or twice I have seen a crash report if I can get out of the black screen and if I do I will try and grab the output as if may tell me / someone here what is going on.

This is driving me nuts and spoiling the game.

ANY suggestions ??

Oh and I checked the infolog.txt file. They look the same whether the game crashes or not. (Bar comments etc in multiplayer obviously)
