Give full system specs, give more detail about what you are doing, step by step and more info about how it crashes or lags or whatever, and at exactly what moment and if it give any visible errors or messages.
If it indeed crashes go to a file in the spring directory called "infolog.txt" and paste its contents here or in pastebin.com

Ok long story short, your laptop is not powerful enough. All the things I listed are huge glaring red flags that your vid card isn't up to snuff, and the engine and specifically that mod will eat your cpu alive (well, at least half of it anyway...).

Is it really pertinent to judge someone's choice of mod in a technical support thread?

Cpu is fine I have e2180 and I can have big games. I can't play with HUGE games only.

Can't he try to change spring seetings? disabling some stuff may help.

If you're gonna act like an arrogant asshole at least have SOME clue of what you're talking about.

I have intel gfx (not exact same model though), running BA, noting on every infolog that xray shaders are incompatible but that doesnt stop me from playing totally fine.

So that leaves this to be the problematic part... And I would still guess there's some way to fix it even while using that Intel chip. Quick search shows people have had similar problems before, search & browse through those threads

The BA part was an obvious joke, and all of you obviously missed the obvious boat.

That said, the first was pointing out the intel card. The third was pointing out shadows failing (red flag) and then fourth the xray failing (really obvious red flag).

According to google and intel's website, the processor listed in infolog is one commonly used in laptops unless I missearched or read something wrong. Don't shoot the messenger *shrug*.

The point is, that gfx card is way underpowered and he's going to have a lot of trouble with it. The processor is adequate I guess, but it will get bogged down fairly quickly by the lack of a decent gfx card. The amount of memory is a definite help, but there is a huge bottleneck there.

Also, sis chipsets have horrible drivers. Quite honestly, good luck finding one that words (I mean it, good luck!), my brother has a toshiba laptop with that same vid card and it's a total pain in the cock to deal with. The drivers provided by intel and the manufacturer are pretty fail tbh and I still haven't resolved it. For example, this massive4 chunk of manly laptop is only getting about 1 fps in quake live whereas my mothers netbook gets nearly 30 fps... Red flag.

Good luck I hope you'll be able to get it sorted out, btu I would recommend grabbing a new 50 dollar gfx card (like an nvidia 7/8 series or something) if you can.

Edit: Also, BA is a very resource intensive mod due to the fact that nothing in it is optimized. The explosions aren't the models are 3do which causes huge complications in the vertex calculations department and a bunch of other things. When I said doublefacepalm I intended it as a joke, but it's also quite true.

Vertex calculations would be a one time event during loading, as such gameplay would be just the same as s3o models

If you want to confirm that the underpowered gfx hangs, you can get a stack trace by setting HangTimeout=10 in the config file.
