Consistent, random crashes for many people with stacktrace fails
Posted: 12 Feb 2010, 02:12
I have Battle Annihilation on two systems, version 7.11 with the latest Spring release, and when I play on any map I crash after a certain period of time. Sometimes it is after 5 minutes and sometimes it's after 30 or even 45 minutes. This happens when I host or even when I don't host.
This game is on two completely separate desktops with different hardware and operating systems.
First System:
Core i3 540
4 GB DDR3-1333 memory
Radeon HD 5670 (Beta drivers -- stable aren't available yet)
Windows Vista Business 64 Bit
Second System:
Core i3 530
4 GB DDR3-1333 memory
Radeon HD 4670 (Catalyst 10.1 Drivers -- most recent)
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
When the game crashes, I receive no errors or useful information
in the crash log.
Similarities between systems:
-- both cpus use the clarkdale architecture and have 2 cores with hyperthreading for 4 logical cores showing on windows. This could be a cause for conern.
-- ATI cards, both cards use ATI hardware, however no other games have any issue and they are both completely different cards.
-- 64 bit operating system, both systems are running on a 64 bit platform.
I also have a laptop running Balanced Annihilation, but it has an ATI card and no issues seem to be created with it, so I am really at a loss.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem, or how to fix it, or is this a bug that needs to be addressed? Any more information that I can provide, I will happily do so.
Thanks in advance
