I'm not comfortable providing you any more detailed contact information so that's really the only way to get me a real gift... unless you are smoth and can give me Tower Defense or the SWIW team and can finally release the public beta for said product.

I am neither a woman nor unmarried... I am basing my "35 is half dead" on the mean age at death for men in Ontario being 71.5 years... so I guess 35.75 is half dead...

Hypothetically Speaking: *cough* What is the correct way to thank someone for buying you a legitimate copy of a game you have already acquired, thoroughly enjoyed and would have bought if you had had money at the time?

Also: How much time would one need to play said game on steam for the person who sent it not to be suspicious that one did not appreciate said gift?

The proper thing to do is to stop playing Steam games altogether for a week and claim that the system must not be reporting properly. Get some other people to back you up and say that it hasn't worked for them before as well. This might not be as hard as it sounds: I've heard of people playing TF2 and not getting achievements even though they should have obviously just completed them.

This both punishes you for being a bad person through your game-abstinence, and convinces your friend that they haven't just wasted a bunch of money. Who knows, maybe sometime in the future you will want to play it again and BAM there it is.
