aside from the fact it really does look like a larger ipod, I'm impressed with the screen, the processor (reviewers said the main point they noticed was how FAST it is), and some of the interface designs (the sdk has a bunch of new stuff to facilitate some pretty sweet user interfaces)

as for most of the possible shortcomings, I'm going to wait until I use one to decide whether I like it.

im getting one.

for a few reasons.

1) Its cheap even the 64 gb 3g wifi version is cheaper than most laptops.

2) the ipod touch has never failed me and this is jsut a bigger version the only thing that pissed me off about the ipod touch was using VNC on the small screen or watching films on the small screen which this solves.

3) improved SDK = MOAR better apps and ive got a shitload of good apps on my ipod touch.

4) i love the touch screen interface on the ipod but the screen is a bit small so now i have more space.

5) my laptop is hueg this is not so when i just want to go around to browse web use my home computer remotely or play some time wasting games watch films i can use this.

6) i love the ipod UI and the ipad UI is the same.

So if you got the cash why not get one.

Okay, I'm not an apple-whore by any means AND I'm still waiting for them to hook these types of things to my brain or at the very least "goggles that project in 3d in my field of view and let me interact with them with my hands"... but that's a pretty slim and fast looking little tablet there...

I was really hoping it was going to be a mac touchscreen netbook, not an oversized iTouch. So disappointed.

and its not even a phone, so no annoying people will call you.

The Iphone runs on a version of OSX anyway so this really is a MAC netbook... it's just that existing software will need to be ported to it (like porting apps to WidowsCE or Linux or Mac that were originally designed for WindowsNT based OSes... actually might be closer to porting x86 software to PowerPC)... Just because it's using a pretty windows manager/UI that's geared towards leveraging multi-touch doesn't mean it's not a computer.

if you hate your iphone your doing it wrong

and id prefer a simple easy to use Ipad for web browsing media use and stuff than a netbook. An Ipad will probably do the job better its not like im going to run games on a netbook.

and i got an ownage laptop to but sometimes i just want something smaller for watching films / browsing web
