Render all units as icons?

Sometimes, when things get really hairy, with a ton of units onscreen, it can get hard to tell what's going on. FPS can also suffer from rendering hundreds of units. Is there a widget that lets you render EVERYTHING as an icon, on command? If not, somebody ought to make one. Would it be difficult?

Not really... I wish there was a way to do that without changing your view angle to the top-view... I'm more talking about micromanaging varied unit types in a close-quarters situation.

Just change your icon distance to nearly nothing... there is a console command for it.

It's available as a slider in CA's in-game menu.
