PLEASE MAKE MEXES GIVE NO MORE THAN 3 M/MEX AND MAKE EXTRACTOR RADIUS 200-300 SO THIS ISN'T A TYPICAL PORCING MAP! I'd really like to see a nice metal map that encourages expansion! i'd make one myself if i wasn't so lazy...

Metal maps exist for porcing. "Hmm, rushing is leet and all, but I feel like a change in pace. Let's play metal!" etc.
On the other hand, more metal = more units = more destruction. Yeah.....

3 metal/mex is good! still massive battles! i want a metal map which has large battles is moderately resource rich AND allows expansion to be encouraged, this would be the coolest, like a painted or flooded desert EXPANDED so bigger battles, MORE tactical/strategic choices etc.
That would rock, it would allow porcing but also allow expansion, best of both worlds!

a good metal map...thats all i ask :'(

Min3mat, a Metalmap is a metalmap point
the idear of metalmaps is that u have infinitif metal in each spot.
You are thinking about a metal rich map, not a metalmap.
To come back to the map:
If you want to reduce porcing, you could make the 4 smal hills into holes
It lookes nice, even if I don't like metalmaps.

Y'know, there IS a large Painted Desert map. We call it
"miniSpring".

You want big battles, right ? Major armies going at it again and again and again, right ?
Well, everything relative. Shrinking the map or enlarging the units - the result's basically the same. We might as well shrink the units or enlarge the map, eh ?

Min3 Are you saying you want a map that has the metal map texture and style, but low metal and visible patches? By the way this map was designed with less metal than most metal maps, as to encourage expansion to the top dome. Also the top dome is placed so it can be used as a giant shield against long range defensive weapons.

grrr. no i want MEDIUM METAL SPREAD OUT IN INVISIBLE PATCHES much like flooded desert, except mexes giving 2x the metal and the map looking cool and metallic with all sorts of cool structures and stuff in it

to reclaim!
