Maybe someone has some free time to create some spires for Ooooweeee, so i can release another version of the map =)

Creating these would be quite simple. Could you provide a high-res texture sample?

If someone models and wraps I don't mind spending a few mins texturing them. ... Assuming the model and wrap are decent of course.

This community seems to have modellers coming out of it's ears, just prod someone who has shown a bit of talent, maybe that cremuss chap? He's shown he can map. I can't imagine this'd take me more half an hour or so of my time to texture.

If whoever models it is intelligent, he should make a couple of spires that share texture space, or perhaps do a number of spire bits that I texture, which he can then use as a kit of parts to create a number of different spires.

I don't think I'd do a specular map for this. Firstly it doesn't strictly need it, and secondly it needs to read as the same material as the ground, which has no specularity.

I think rattle's spires look more appropriate for a lava-world setting. Wolf-in-exile's really matches the original look and feel.

That's why noize wanted to change the texture I think. Yeah Lynx his spires fit better to the slate theme.

I think rattle's look pretty good as well, ditto on giving it a more matching texture.

Noize, can I also recommend just resizing the various spires and moving them around a bit to get yourself a bit more variation?
