I just come from TAClub in China.
And I had done something like this

Springlobby has been translated into Chinese Simplified

This lobby has online play support, single player support, and Unicode support for speaking with complicated languages and glyphs in the lobby.

I remember stumbling onto this forum ages ago. I was amazed at how much active TA interest there was...

Well the populatin of china exceeds that of europe and the united states put together.so...should be at least a few ta fans...

I wonder if the ping issues have been fixed.

i spent about an hour and completed the simp-Chinese version of SpringSP0.9.

Thanks to the sourcecode provided in UF.
and i've found several bugs or missing codes inside the source files, which will cause some problems in Replay section.

i have uploaded it to the biggest TA forum in China... and maybe i will not here. But anyway, if it's needed, i'll do it.

springlobby

Springlobby is FAR superior for singleplayer than springsp, which is an abandoned project.

Springlobby allows you to change fixed starting locations as well as a lot of other options that are a PITA to use via SpringSP.

Just out of curiosity - how many Chinese Spring players would you say there are?

Sadly we don't really have much contact with the Chinese Spring community.

edit. Took a look at the forum, looks like cdyjn is on top of things as far as telling people what's happening here...

Are the chinese players playing on our main lobby server ? Cause I didn't see many chinese country flags.

i see a group of 4-5 chinese players (same clan) sometimes

They have their own server, apparently there's serious ping/latency problems with the rest of the world (no surprise, China has fewer IP addresses assigned to it than UC Berkeley), plus I think they may have modified the lobby/server to support Chinese characters.

Tasclient isn't in chinese... Springlobby can be fairly easily.

Is that something to do with the Golden Shield thing (Great firewall of China)? I hadn't thought of it before but I really don't see many Chinese on the web...

Actually that goes for most of Asia so might just be that the physical connections between there and the rest of the world aren't that good yet.
