Muther's Day

Today is Mother's day in the US.
What did you do for/to your mom?

I painted the mailbox and some of the house where the paint was peeling. I am also going to switch her from Outlook to Thurderbird, to lessen M$'s power over her.
On that note, does anyone know how to make checkboxes on the Thunderbird message list as in the older Outlook Express? She does not like having to open a message in order to delete it.

Waffles for breakfast were damn good.

I kicked her in the ass when she refused to prepare dinner.

I made love to as many mothers as possible, it was alright until this kid burst in and started kicking his mom for no reason.

Wow, sounds more exciting than peeling paint off walls and putting other paint on.

Mothers day is just a excuse for industry to make us buy things our mothers dont need and give to then, thus I did nothing. And my memory does not allows me to remember other dates beside my birthday and 25/12.

what is an amerifag? I am not from USA, I do not hate nor love USA.

And I dont celebrate holidays either, I just happen to remember the date.

And im not sure if christmas means the day or the day before the day, but Jesus was born in 25/12.

There's actually no authoritive record of when Jesus was born. The Christmas date was adopted from a roman harvest festival IIRC.

Me neither, it's a waste of money and unnecessary pressure/stress. I can give out presents when ever I feel like it (as in never).

...and it wasn't widely celebrated until Sears, Woolworth, and the other big catalog retailers revived the ancient tradition of gift-giving on Christmas in order to boost their own sales in the mid-1800s.

Hell, the Puritans both in the US (Massachusetts Bay Colony) and England (Oliver Cromwell) banned the celebration of Christmas as a 'pagan holiday'.

Easter has historically been the most important Christian holiday, with Christmas just one of many holy days if it is even celebrated.
