Unit icon transparency issue

You know how a unit will show as a little picture of itself rather than a 3D model when you zoom out enough?

Well, when my graphics card draws the picture on the screen it doesn't take transparency into account - the result being grey boxes around faraway units. Search didn't turn up anything useful.

Here's an example - take note of the little AKs and Cans in the distance - they all have grey boxes around them.

Anyone had this before and got rid of it? Or knows what to do?

Anyway, I've just finished downloading a driver update, so I'll go see if that works. Probably not, though, but still.

Also does anyone know how to find out what graphics card driver you have?

That's not the unit icons. It's always done those in an ugly way for me; I just disable it. Under the Render Detail tab, it's misnamed as 'Unit detail'. Set it to 600, which is based on distance, and set the actual icon distance to something under 600.

Turn on reflections and it will go away I believe.
