So i made this mgrex model:
but the probleme is to texture it, i absolutely don't know how to do this with such a model, i have read the tutorials here, but there is just too many faces on that model, and i wonder how you guises proceed to texture a model which has many faces
that is what i managed to pull out, but i absolutely can't see which texture goes where
also this is the first time i use wings 3D, i learned as i go, and now i am stuck at texturing.
thanks.

you need to start with basic things. Doing something like this on first go might be a bit much. try doing a mushroom or box.

Make your own cuts, dont let it auto unwrap for you. Have you ever made or seen papercraft? You've probably done some in school as a kid. Think of it like that, but in reverse. It makes it easier for you if you keep areas as contiguous as possible with as few splits as you can manage.

The thought of texturing that UV map makes me sad in the pants

haha yes i made a papercraft of a robot some months ago, here it is:
the probleme is that i dont know where i should do the cuts, but i start to get how to do.
the probleme now is the window of unwrapped parts, its just too tiny:
if there is any faster way to uv map than wings 3D... because i started doing this at like 2 pm

I wanna make that paper thing too now!
A tip for when you make models with tons of little stuff could be to paint the texture first, or half of it, make a lot of generic paneling and stuff, and then put the little parts polygons on top of the texture as you model in a way that looks decent. This avoids the effect of having a ton of stuff to UV map in the end. Im currently experimenting with this method myself so I'm not sure how well it works. Then this can also be reused for more models. Important big things can have their own corner that you UV map/texture traditionally in the end.
I think the key to good texturing is reusing material.
To get your texture into wings, right click on the alphabet thingie picture and click "make external" in the list of things to the right, the "outliner". Then save it somewhere and replace that image with the texture and click refresh in the "outliner".

Start small and read through UV mapping tutorials first.

Texturing takes forever for me i'm so fussy when it comes to choosing the right materials.

You're kinda working against yourself using a UV map where your important geometry is facing diagonals. Those jaggie edges on the corners of your model are due to textureing not being straight lines, and instead being diagonal lines, effectively causing pixles to show.
