I made three maps, I hope y'all like them.

Bryce Valley

This is a 20 X 10 map, similar in concept to the other two, a few kinks rolled out. It's specifically for E-W matches, I think it could even support 6v6 that way, but it's made for 4v4. Maek gaem!

Bryce Arena

This is a 16 X 16 map, with start positions more or less in a circle around the center. Best for FFA, but 2v2v2v2 - 4v4 will work. I tried to change a few things based on the (low amount) of feedback i got about the Canyon map, so the hills are now much more uneven, and kbots can climb them without micro. I tried making center more attractive, we will see. Please post any gameplay experience about these maps, cause I am working on another one.

Bryce Canyon

This is a 20 X 10 map, good for 4v4 or ffa games; Top vs Bottom (boxes need to be assimetric tho) or Left vs Right. The map has a wide valley running down the middle of the long side, the start pos are on the two sides of this. The terrain is generally very canyon-like, with tons of small passages. Vechicles can pass most of the small ones, and kbots can even climb up on top of the mountains. Enjoy, and any suggestions for improvement are welcome.

It is a pretty generic design, starcraft used to have maps like this. which map is it similar to?

i think he is referring to Ancient Arena. its not really playable tho, the hills are obscenely high, so it breaks aircraft something fierce.

Imho the terrain on all of them are too artificial-looking.

Do you mean the texture or the heightmap? I don't really agree that the texture is artificial looking, I think that is the strongest suite of the maps. As for the heightmap, i concede that it could use some erosion, I may redo that.

I'm working on the feature thing now, it's a part of the dark art of mapping that I have not yet mastered.

Yeah the heightmap. The texture looks nice.

I'm not sure if I like the narrow canyons... on the one end micromanagement is impossible in them, on the other, that's kind of the point, there aren't really any other structures in this game that are so restricting. The biggest problem is isn't a single dead corpse basically a roadblock then?

It is more or less on the first one i made, the canyon. In the other two, the passes are wider, and it shouldn't be a problem. About the micro, i think it doesn't kill micro, esp not for kbots. In the later two, kbots can climb hills in tons of places, not just 1-2.
