If I start a map, and ti fails so I switch to another mirror, and I get the error so I ahve to manually resume the transfer say 8 or 9 times, that would count as 9+1+1 == 11 downlaod hits 11*77=847MB of bandwidth clocked on UFs counters, not 70MB, but 847MB. Dont trust the statistics.

yep, I commonly have to start downloads 2-3 times on average...

that alone, if say 20% of the community has to click 2-3 times, means that the couters are at least 6/5*100%-100 or 7/5*100%-100 high.... (20-40% high)

if it happens like AF says, and say only 1 out of every 10 men.. + the times mine effs up,
6/5*100%-100+21/10*100%-100 = 230% high
or
7/5*100%-100+21/10*100%-100 = 250% high

now, divide that number on UF by 2.3 or 2.5 and you get the true downloads.. (its still enough to say its out there... but its ALOT less)

Downloads : 900/2.3 or 900/2.5
= between 360 and 391 downloads...

thats nearly only 1/3

but hey, look at the brighter side...

I've spent hundreds of hours making my 2 maps... and well... I have never, once, ever, seen anyone but me or sometimes one of fang, forb, or deci playing on them, ever.



its always some version of "supreme something" or "speed something"

I'm gonna name the next map I make "Small Supreme Speed Shit OMGWTF Battlefield."

Did it ever occur to you guys that you are the minority with problems on UF? If everyone had problems with UF then it probably wouldn't be our main fileserver now would it?

Also, do I care if anyone outside of FGJL dl's them? Not really. Compstomps baby!!!

There's also ppl who change their minds and cancel them before they even begin or see the advert wait and close the window, they still count as downloads, and bandwidth used is just download counter*filesize.

On some hosts I get error at say 20% and have to right click resume to continue...

Whats much more reliable is seeing it in the lobby.

I can understand the ginormous filesizes for the first two, they're very pretty and very detailed... but for sinkhole? You're telling me you couldn't tile that more?

Sorry, you make very beautiful, very big, very fun maps - but 70 megs is just too hard to start a game with.

how about this tombom, despite the fact that I can outdraw a lot of the normal people in this community... maybe the reason why my typing is missing a letter or two from time to time is because I have something wrong with my HANDS! MAYBE, Smoth had to go through physical therapy throughout childhood to control the nervous condition which by the way still has no name? Maybe unlike lathan or the rest of you normal people, I had it so bad that in order to write my own damn name in kindergarten, I had to hold my arm to the table.

So maybe in order to type or draw I have to make extra effort. Maybe it is not as easy for me. However, a lot, that is a common misspelling and for the rest of you jack-offs that have normal hands I expect that you could make the effort.

as a note, I had to fix 8 spelling errors and proof read it 2 times to see what letters I didn't press. So how about you back the fuck off me and consider that I may have a reason for the way I type most of the time, here or in lobby.

as a map related note, I think some mirrors are slower then others, I just downloaded all of the maps from different mirrors and got different speeds from them all. So, it may be good for some of you to figure out what your fastest mirror is.

and frankly, I have trouble typing too, hell writing ANYTHING for that matter... my train of thought is usually about 2 sentances ahead of my ability to type and I end up mixing things up...

or leaving out huge chunks of info... For Example:

I'll be typing along and from time to time, I'll be thinking and typing something like: "I wonder what pissed smoth off so bad today and got his panties in a wad bla bla bla"...

(but .. this is true) what really happened to me when I wrote that:

I caught myself writing "... off so bad today and hot his.." instead of writing "... got his..." this was not a "type-o" it was a metal issue with me being dyslexic, I literally WANTED to type the h instead of the g. I do it ALL the time. ALL the time.

not to mention I editied just about everything in this post 4-5 times...
I should put you on VNC and let you peek over my fucking shoulder when I try to talk something, type something I'm thinking... its well... disturbing..

hell, I've done it now about 45 times in all throughout this bitch... sooo...
I have to constantly re-read everything I say over and over and over and over to make sure it is correct. I re-read it after its posted and 99% of the time I have about 4 errors to fix on every fucking post.

I'm not a "normal" smoth... to top it all off, I'm shunned by MOST people I know personally because my mental status is well... irritating to them.. why? because I talk everything through and end up explaining myself on everything I say, ... urgh... like if you asked me about something like, "I wonder why McDonalds hamburgers are bad.." my entire arm will fill with pain after I've been typing for about 20 mins.. I have to strain to make it fucking work.

The CORRECT form of the term meaning "a large amount" of something. "A lot" (as 2 words) means "a large empty piece of land" as in "a lot for used cars."

"I have alot of friends" means "I have a large number of friends," whereas "I have a lot of friends" means that your buddies are outside standing around in a big empty piece of land, looking like idiots!

that makes "alot" of sense to me.
