I like the style of the bottom one, that has the eclipse crescent thing.

These are nice, thanks for putting in the effort guys!
There is a big problem with the 'ok' thing though, isnt there. We can go with ZK if that cant be fixed (or change the name of the damn mod to open conflict or something).

Sabutai, it's a good layout concept, I especially like the layout of the second, but both of them have failure. But the concept of eclipse-as-zero-in 0 K is worth exploring.
1) A zero is not circular. An O is. It still looks like Okay, even with the line, and if you add a slash to make a slashed-zero, it'll look like a no-smoking sign.
2) You have the same problem as the original logo - it looks like a crescent, not an eclipse. See page 2 of thread for the eclipse V crescent-moon thread. The most important part: the apparent diameter of the moon is almost the same as that of the sun - sometimes it is slightly larger (total eclipse) and sometimes slightly smaller (annular eclipse). Both the original and your crescents use too small of a subtractive circle.
Plus, the stars in 2 make no sense, unless they aren't stars.

I could squeeze the moon. And yeah the logo doesn't make much sense but come on, how much meaning or scientific accuracy do you really need to put into it?

I got that they were craters alright, although maybe it would help if the colors were inversed. White exclipse on a dark background.

I don't mention apparent diameter because of scientific pedantry, but because it's important in making sure the image looks like an eclipse and not a crescent moon - again, see page 2 of the thread.

What are you really looking for? A cool image to display on a site/manual, or a design to use on your units as teamcolor?

imo, ZK looks nicer than 0K.

I might give it a whack this weekend if I get the time. I have an idea... although my graphic design skills aren't what they should be.

Specifically, in this instance, it is a desktop icon.
I just took the 0k icon from
the website (maackeys) cleaned up the crescent, and stuck it in an icon. I thought it looked quite good myself (especially in the small window icon) but if people dont like it it looks like there are plenty of ideas here.

Well then, that logo on the site right now works well. How about the faction(s), do they need logos?

I like sabutais' and satirik's.
One thing I think should be noted is that the logo doesn't necessarily have to have an eclipse or say 0K or ZK.
That said. I think a Zero-K logo with a null set symbol for the 0 would look pretty cool.

Sabutai those are awesome. Probably a bit too mellow though. Saktoth's keywords for the Zero-K universe are "stark" and "nihilistic" (last I read the plot brainstorms anyway).
So I'ma jump on the bandwagon with my attempt. And yeah, its basically a screenshot pasted on a google image. Don't make fun my shoddy gimp-fu.
Hopefully it inspires more for better :D

Lets keep in mind that any logo needs to be able to survive printing on a black and white printer without the colours being massacred by insufficient contrast, blown up to billboard size, printed on a badge, letterhead, etc etc
So keep that in mind, else itll bite you up the arse when you start making logo variations and the workload rises from a 2 minute change to half an hour or fiddling.
