he just switched his lobby to another one, thats all. no insults nothing destroyed. its not nice for us, having to change the file back but its no great effort. and yes if argh or smoth dont want to continue their mods noone can say anything against it.zwzsg wrote:So, you're saying it would correct for, let's say, Smoth or Argh or Fanger to find a way to make their mod display insults and render Spring unusable just because they were disrespected?caldera wrote:i think it was a bit more than just a "few". i also think we should start respecting his and the other devs work much more instead of bashing them if something doesnt work immediately. some people dont seem to know that all devs work for "free" in their freetime and provide us the imo best rts-game ever.
Switching the lobby was obviously meant to cause problems for users (and maybe SpringLobby devs) though, so his actions really aren't defendable.caldera wrote:he just switched his lobby to another one, thats all. no insults nothing destroyed. its not nice for us, having to change the file back but its no great effort. and yes if argh or smoth dont want to continue their mods noone can say anything against it.zwzsg wrote:So, you're saying it would correct for, let's say, Smoth or Argh or Fanger to find a way to make their mod display insults and render Spring unusable just because they were disrespected?caldera wrote:i think it was a bit more than just a "few". i also think we should start respecting his and the other devs work much more instead of bashing them if something doesnt work immediately. some people dont seem to know that all devs work for "free" in their freetime and provide us the imo best rts-game ever.
No one would be complaining if he did it correctly, and he most likely knew how to, but he chose to not do it correctly. There really isn't much logical reasons for that choice other than intentionally trying to screw people over.Forboding Angel wrote:I have issues believing that he was intentionally trying to screw everyone over. I mean if it had been done correctly, outside of minor things would anyone have screamed and complained? I kinda doubt it.
