Yeah, that's why you can help the crappy program out and do the registering.
Seriously though, this is hilarious - both Mumble and TS2 use the same voice protocol after some basic research (speex). Choosing one over the other makes zero difference, yet the other one has better cross-platform compatibility at least.

which completely defeats the point of having launch automated since it requires manual user intervention...

I'm stunned.
Unless you don't bother looking at your Trac or don't realize you can register a mime type in Linux (xdg-mine, xdg-open) or you're drunk? I thought you were smarter than this O.o

i already knew it, the problem is that you don't realize that the lobby has to know where teamspeak is installed for doing so...
since the goal for the url handler was to make the lobby oblivion to the teamspeak installation location, it completely defeats the point of using url handler.
requiring user manually registering the handler using the command line imo it's worse than giving a path to chose the teamspeak bin directly in the gui ..
EDIT: btw don't insult people when it's clear that you're the one here which is not understanding how stuff works ...

I'm sorry, but you can use command line from programs, afaik, which I assumed a smart program would do - locate teamspeak (see in all possible logical paths), and then register it.

System had been down past few days apparently, fixed it recently.
Note to server admins:
Do not touch zz_<number> channels!
Someone deleted them and created again which caused system to malfunction, since it has their ID's stored and attempts to send people to channel by channel ID.

Are you accepting bounties to switch from TS2 to Mumble?
I can't stand TS2.

It's open-source. I expect it could be bundled with the Spring installer without any legal issues.
Yes it was, cannot be integrated that easilly and it appears to be unpopular.
But mumble was my first choice.

Sure, code mumble support and you are set, i will host it :)
More specifically, make .NET assembly to control mumble on remote server, or native linux .so

Seriously, does this thing work? I always connect as "guest" - am I supposed to set up an account somewhere? I set a username in the "advanced" box in CADownloader, but that's it. Documentation plz.
Double-checking - that box is for admins. Doesn't work either way...
wait, I just thought of something...
this is TASClient only, isn't it? No SpringLobby? Damn. I like SpringLobby.
edit: yup, works in TASclient, not SL.
