Does it have to be something real? Because I really want one of these...

Hehe, we have 1.3 acres in the middle of the city with a huge yard behind the house. I have (at last count) 3 of the little buggers. They're cute as all hell, I just wish they wouldn't dig so many holes.KaiserJ wrote:heh. a seasonal pet has returned to me this week
one of these creatures lives in a hole on my front lawn, damned if he isnt the cutest little animal.
i've been throwing sunflower seeds at where he lurks; hopefully eventually he will trust me enough to come and hang out with me or eat out of my hand
I also have at least 6 full grown wild rabbits that commonly hang out in the yard (which is kinda nice cause they tend to eat a lot of weeds, but the bastards also eat flowers too, which is annoying as hell

Earlier today I saw a cute as hell little baby bunny hopping around on the sidewalk, so apparently mommy and daddy been gettin it on.

This spring I accidentally mowed over a nest of baby bunnies
. Needless to say, the parents no longer reside in my yard.
(I would have felt sorry for them had they not made such a big mess)

I have always wanted to try to have one of these.

Looks neat and it won't poop on the rug.

I once touched a baby bunny by accident, when on a walk out for inspiration, and well, you know them, once you touched the mother doesent recognize them because of the changed smell. So i had to took it home, feed warm milk ever freekin 5 hours, i lost a lot of sleep in those 3 months, and then it ran away. Sweet relieve, hope it does well in that dogworld out there :)Coresair wrote:This spring I accidentally mowed over a nest of baby bunnies. Needless to say, the parents no longer reside in my yard.

I know someone who has one of those.
Re: What Kind of Animal Would You Like to Have as a Pet?

looks like i got some new "pets". there were five of the little buggers, i took tons of pics and a video but this was the only thing that remotely worked out (it was pitch black and my camera sucks)
heh after this pic some of them actually started coming down the fence a bit to look at me closer. was very endearing.

Awesome stuff i wonder why they haven't been housebroken yet, they seem to have the potential of becoming great pets.
Re: What Kind of Animal Would You Like to Have as a Pet?
hmmm unfortunately it's illegal in my province, so i can't...
i've looked up on it before, and seen video of people keeping them as pets. seems like its not an easy task, but could be rewarding
seems they need a lot of attention, and since they are technically a wild animal, will get up to all sorts of mischief. i would imagine it's a bit like having a pet monkey.
they can open pretty much any fastening except for a keyed lock, i've had trouble in the past with them somehow getting a bungie cord off my garbage can and making a mess... i can only imagine what would happen if a coon were left alone for 10 minutes with my refridgerator...

i was tempted to try and feed them the other day but i wouldn't want to make them "soft"... its a harsh world out there, those furry cute little creatures must develop an aggressive attitude in order to survive

There used to be some raccoons where I lived. They are very smart, used to carry off all kinds of things if you left them out on your porch, and made a big mess of the trash. They were cute, though.
