Re: Republican health care plan, step 1: don't get sick
I was going to reply to forbs post about americans arent suffering with a picture of a corpses in new orleans, but somehow I don't think ti would have made a difference to mention that just because you yourself live in an affluent area, or even a middle class area, and millions also live there, doesn't mean that the low end of the spectrum doesn't exist.
As the man in the video said, people die every year in huge numbers, and its stupid. Just because the current system works for you right now, doesn't mean that its the best system for you, or for everyone at that matter.
Look at where the money that pays for this comes from, are you really saying that the tax you pay and others of your wage bracket give a meaningful contrbution? Hardly, its all corporations and super rich people for the most part.
Basically the only anti healthcare point thats got any basis at all is the tax point, but even then, the taxes needed to fund such a system are cheaper than the insurance premiums to fund the current system!

Re: Republican health care plan, step 1: don't get sick
ps: I live in a country with public health care, I know nurses and doctors who work there too, and do private work in their own time. We do not get ubertaxes to pay for our health care like you said i would, we have a good healthcare system, and if there is anything we would change about it, it's that we would spend more on it!
So please stop it with the lecturing on what will happen in a country with a public healthcare system, I live in one thankyou and I can say I know what I'm on about along with 65 million other peopke

Those assholes died because they were too fucking stupid to get the fuck out. THE BUSSES WERE SITTING EMPTY WAITING FOR PASSENGERS! Tons of them! Then the gov of LA decided that it would be a good idea not to ask for help from FEMA for 3-4 FUCKING DAYS!AF wrote:I was going to reply to forbs post about americans arent suffering with a picture of a corpses in new orleans
If you got stuck or killing in New Orleans, it's your own fucking fault. There was TONS of free government paid for transportion that went away empty. This people got what they asked for by staying. Fuck new orleans, bunch of fucking retards.
Edit: Did I mention that these were the same assholes shooting at police, rescuers, and rescue helicopters? Fuck that!
What kind of idiots live in a city that is right next to the water, but way under the water level? Idiots, that's who.

I vote that we nuke all cities that lie below the water table. That will solve everything.

I would launch a solar shade, but that's just me.
Actually, did you know they can do that now? Not in the Alpha Centauri sense, but some scientist guy suggested they fill the atmosphere with some short-lived particles or gasses or something that reflect heat and light, sort of an emergency measure if climate change goes out of control. And it's actually quite within our ability to do this, he points out, though it would cost some tiny percentage of America's GDP if they wanted to implement it. Perhaps they could sell Texas to finance it.

The transportation and facilities were being provided for free.
Re: Republican health care plan, step 1: don't get sick
I can at least understand your position on that, FA, even if I don't agree with it. Similarly, when "the big one" flattens LA I won't have the slightest sympathy. With any luck it'll happen during an awards show.
(and, in an historic event, Paris Hilton will be receiving an award for something. And the award will be cancer.)
On the other hand, just providing free transportation doesn't necessarily make someone want to leave a disaster area if their whole livelihood is still there and they... couldn't afford insurance. *cough*
I mean, personal belongings are really important to some people. If there was a bomb that might go off and take out my whole city, and I was in my driveway next to my car holding my keys, I'd probably run inside, grab my cat (at the very least), external hard drives, and whatever expensive electronics and/or cash I could find.
And, ah, then I'd wait for the neighbors to leave and do the same to them. I'm a terrible human being but at least I know it.
Surely you can sympathize with wanting to save your money and possessions, when your whole anti-healthcare argument seems to be "what about my money!?"

Were new houses and shit? i seem to remember it being all rather shit.Forboding Angel wrote:The transportation and facilities were being provided for free.
also i like how you stopped talking about healthcare and started talking about how much you fucking hate the poor.
Re: Republican health care plan, step 1: don't get sick
It's genuine knowing that a lot of Americans volunteered their houses so only a small majority was left homeless. Guess what? How do they thank us? Do they get a job? No! Bring gangfights and try to own the land! Yes!Were new houses and shit? i seem to remember it being all rather shit.

Fuck New Orleans, they had almost a week warning and a lot of them did not in fact use free transportation to temporary camps were and many lives could be saved. Another thing, not a lot of houses were actually destroyed, they were completely deserted and those people still living in trailers still bitch about getting a brand new fucking house, after they just offered vacant houses for, you guess it! twenty five fucking dollars for a house.
There was a bus accident in New York, and over 2000 people reported for injuries and tried to get money from the government, these people were generally poor and did not have a job. The court denied every case because the bus was off duty and it ran in to a poll, where only the driver was slightly injured.
So what does this tell us about the people in New Orleans? Some people will do anything to abuse the system, and those people are the ones complaining on the media. You have no idea how the other nearby cities were absolutely destroyed because you haven't been there yourself, yet I hear nothing about people trying to sue the government for a strange smell in the trailers.
Oh i forgot to mention, they could of moved these trailers, but these complainers decide it would be funny to just park these trailers as close or inside New Orleans as they can. They were offered many job offers in reconstruction New Orleans or elsewhere to save money to buy a house or rent apartments. No one is trapped physically, just mentally.
