Unless you have a large player base, SP missions are important. And even with a large player base, new players mush still learn the unit before they have a change of playing decently. Sp missions/games take care of that.

Also, in the genre of RTS games, a pretty large amount of gamers prefer single player, or at least want it in addition to multiplayer. I often play VS bots because it's nice to play by myself sometimes, it'd be even funner if there was a campaign of some sort.

you could always do border advertising

95% of the new people coming to Spring are coming because of a 'TA remake'. Even though you might hate it, you can't deny it's true.

Either way, the official name of Spring is Spring, not TA:Spring.

You don't play Spring. You play games that run on the Spring engine. There is a difference.

The claim that people all come here for TA is unsubstantiated and unproven.

If it were I would attribute this to people spreading spring under the name TA Spring, so people come here for TA not because they want TA but because they're unaware spring has anything else.

well thats one way to look at it, but a Beatles cover band thats slowly starting to play their own songs is still likely to have listeners who like the Beatles.

Apocolyptica has tonnes of fans who don't like metallica.

If I have a brand new box that grants any wish imaginable when asked and market it as a tin opener, obviously everybody who comes to buy it buy it will ahve bought it to open tins. It doesn't mean I should dedicate the boxes existence to opening tins or that the box is all about metalic cylinders.

Who knows I may decide to let on that if you ask it to give you a million dollars instead of an opened tin it'll still work. I could market it as a chicken sandwich maker!
