Nintendo DS? I recall that thing selling at an insane pace, too.

The 360 isn't selling faster but its lead time is helping it with gaining developers, they've gotten loads more support than last gen just by offering a large userbase earlier than the competition. Despite of its image the 360 currently seems to have the most jRPGs out of the three. Launching earlier helped Sony with the PS2 and it seems to help MS with the 360, too.
