I've already done it a few times. Cutting off is easy, cutting back is harder. I already have a scheme in action to prioritize my involvement on the internet, and I would recommend any who find themselves on here an absurd amount of time to do the same.

I think it's important that whatever you are doing with the rest of your life be at least comparably interesting to spending time playing/doing other spring related things. If that isn't the case, you're in trouble.

Posting from internet cafe's/friends places and what not... So I try to not post much since it's kind of annoying... I got a shitload of stuff done though, so it's worth it.

I dunno... Whats the point in quitting teh intarwebz? Get home from school, mod on my comp, play a game or something... Mine is a "I have nothing else to do" situation... I'm 13, go to school, make A's and B's.. What else should I do? I play baseball and am soon to play football in highschool. I don't have any friends in the immediate area except for 3 or 4 miles down the road, and that's Chrispin.
Now! On topic, go ahead and advertise, I won't pitch in. Open source and it has a good enough user base. I just stick around so I can learn some worthwhile skills for my future, and play an occasional game.

zwswg and all friends who think OTA content if all this is about, in legal terms... this is NOT just about the content, if they want to remove spring, the content would not be a problem for them because it is the game itself, it uses ideas from OTA and that is what would be the major problem.
about the publicity, no, first because TASServer, the lobby server, is not capable of supporting more than 200 users connected simultaneously, any more than around 150 and it starts to do major timeouts and lags, it is hard to stay connected for more than 5 minutes without timing out during rush hours, the seconds reason, is the legal which has been discussed.
should these two problems be solved, then it would be a question of time, usually people will come by theselves if the game is good, I remember doom3 being in beta stage was played before it was released, maybe because it was good, im sure that if spring will be able to handle more than ~200 lobby players the publicity will take care of itself.

Ideas are uncopywriteable, gameplay is uncopywriteable. Only code is copywriteable. That's why in the USA you've got games like "Slides and Staircases", Reversi vs. Othello, etc. You can copy everything about the game as long as you use no actual text, names, media, etc.

let's hope these USA laws also work in sweden I guess, in which case, assuming that everything can be removed, the sounds could be more of a problem than the rest.
then I guess in this case only one problem left.

Yep, copyright protects the implementation, not the idea. Would be pretty fucked up if you couldn't draw a picture of a woman becouse someone has alredy got that idea and done that. Tough the mega-corps are currently working on trying to replace copywright with patents, idea "protection".

I havent seen desyncing so much lately, maybe because my spring crashes 50% of games. So maybe fix those crashes first, instead of desyncs?

I have been there when there are OVER 200...
I am only interested in us being over 1 specific number.

that is not what I ment, over 200 there are many times, but I never seen over 200 without lags and timeouts, I think the absolute limit is around 250, maybe 300 with very severe lags and timeouts.

on sunday nights we can peak around 300-320.
