Well considering that that map is eastside-westside and that is on empyrean (sp?) the human homeworld...
Well gee, maybe they taught cats how to drive.
Fozi, why are you resisting this so much? You can't back up your arguments with any kinda of half ass tangable truth which just makes you look like an idiot.

Um. Why does it really matter what the scale of OTA was? If he wants to use a different scale for his mod, why's that a problem?

Arm are not humans. It doesn't say ANYWHERE that arm are humans - humanoid, perhaps. But They could be a race of 2ft tall super midgets.
Why am I resisting it? Because I'm tired of having this fallacy shoved down my throat. I can do what I damn well please in my own mod and noone else is going to tell me otherwise.

Well of course you can do whatever you want. It's your mod and I fully support modders who do their own thing.
The reason for this scale discussion is mainly for mappers so that we can get features that look and feel as though they are the correct size. It's very useful for modders as well that wanna stay in the ta scale of things.
It's a guideline for those that need it. If you don't need it (which is the aura I'm getting), then no harm done, no need to follow it in your mod. I don't see the harm in not following it if you wanna do something different in your mod; I say more power to ya!

Well I only raised the point because Smoth brought it up on an irrelevant point. Zsinj suggested some larger trees. That woudln't even break the scale anyway. And yet Smoth feels the need to point it out.

What I believe smoth was getting at was that if you have a tree in the middle of a map the size of mt everest then that's gonna really look crappy (overexaggerating here). So therefore, keep it in the proposed scale so that it doesn't look out of place.

Eh, I do not belive any of the urban maps had a description that said they were on Empyrrean, neither that they would be human cities. The manual also says that they Arm developed combat suits to battle Core, which would imply (in my mind anyway) small units. Not to mention that even if they are human cities, we wouldn't know what the respective"cars" transported, or how many, if any, people one of the buildings there could hold. Oh, and did I mention that a Envoy can carry, I belive it was, 13 goliaths!
What I'm trying to say is that in the case of TA, your gut feeling is probably just as "correct" as any real attempt to get the scale of the units. This is my personal opinion of course, but it does make it hard to accept any scale as the right one.
Still, if one really wants to find a correct scale, I belive Cavedog declared some fan made stories as canon, or perhaps it was only the Boneyard newsreports. I'm a bit unsure about that actually, but it might contain the scale of the units somewhere. I wouldn't be suprised if there were contradictions there though.

for the last GODAMN time... it was something that was from cavedog that I had drawn the information from.
I am not going to devote several hours of my time to re-verify something because you assholes will not listen. I am fucking sick of it, I spent a large sum of time compiling the information and I did have hand written notes. All of which are lost along with the links. Not a single one of you have presented anything other then outright stubborness. If you want to disprove it and you want to vehimately deny anything I say at least have something to back it otherwise you can shutup!
This will cover the rest of the replies I get because this is what 99.9999999^9^9^9^9^9^9 are going to say.
"in my parallel universe that crosses with yours the arm and core were never human and the kbots are all as tall as a man who will not fit in his own car! In my universe everything is arbitrarily juxtaposed against anything that you POSSIBLY could have spent time figuring out"
And to those old guard dicks... F*** you in the a** with Micheal Jackson's nose broken off and basted in the juices of walt disney!

Behave, everyone.
Smoth, we appreciate you are frustrated, and I myself am a great advocate of the original scale. There is still no excuse to go violently off-topic and insult people.
Now, people, these are the facts.
Cavedog created TA to a specific scale. Combat suits are many times the size of humans due to neccessity - Core, being a race of machines with human mind patterns controlling them, will be able to directly augment their minds to cope with combat suits the size of Krogoths. Arm has to match this to survive. (In all probability the controlling personality is only a small sphere of computer hardware buried in the suit somewhere, possibly even with ejection capability, but this aspect has never been explored by TA.)
Arm are a race of humans - organic humans, not so far removed from us in an evolutionary scale to be dinosaur size given a timescale of only a few thousand years, even factoring in galactic colonisation - so the scale remains correct.
Modders are free to break away from this at will. However the Tree feature was included in Spring to the original scale. So the use of trees would mean scaling them up considerably.
Most importantly, there is no reason to create a flamewar. If you seek a flamewar, create your own thread for it and do not pollute a thread created for another purpose with one.
Thank you.

IMO trees need not ever regrow, that being said I can think of other possible features that would regrow once destroyed, there's no reason to make it impossible to do just because it doesn't fit for trees.
