Re: Games
ME wasn't an amazing game or anything, it just very nicely merged different types of game into one, sort of like a Deus Ex/KOTOR hybrid. I'll agree that it wasn't equal to either of them though - DX as everyone knows is pretty much my favorite game of all time, and KOTOR I played through at least 3 times I think. ME I played through once, then uninstalled. When ME2 is approaching I'll probably play through it again so I'm prepped for the sequel, but it's not one of those games that I'd play again at the drop of a hat. Like DX... Which I think I might go play now.
But, yeah... elevator spam. Maybe there's a hack that speeds them up or something?

I would have tried it, but it looks like it won't run on Win2000.bobthedinosaur wrote:found this looking at some lame radio thing. any one play it, any good?

Re: Games
why are you using win2000?
Re: Games
i tried this some days ago, it might be fun online but i never found any online players, but it think it just started. so i only played vs ai. you have a hexagonal base and ~30 seconds to build stuff, then the doors open and you try to capture more bases. i dont like how you can get powerups like "start with two extra riflemen", "10% more income" and stuff like that if you pay. You can also get those by playing alot i think but its still gay imo.bobthedinosaur wrote:found this looking at some lame radio thing. any one play it, any good?

its basically arena wars + netPanzer with units that look like GDI from C&C.

Fallout 2 made me laugh out loud several times, but you have to play through Fallout 1 to get some of the jokes.
Descent 3 can be incredibly joy-inducing due to the challenge, but there's a steep learning curve at first. Lots of buttons. One of my favorite moments was in the middle of a heated multiplayer battle, when I suddenly realized that I had run out of fingers... I was literally pressing 6 or 7 buttons at once while banking and rolling with the Z-axis of the joystick.
Angband (it's a roguelike game, similar to Nethack): My moment of pure joy was when I finally won, after something like 10+ years of playing. I started playing UMoria when I was in 8th grade, and didn't finally manage to win Angband until I was 21 or so.
There's plenty more, of course, but those stick out in my mind.
