Spring RTS Engine

I'll assemble the Super Friends. We can start in Palesto-Israel and move along from there.

Hopefully j5mello still has the jet fueled.

fueled and ready though my piloting skills have waned as of late so it could be a bumpy ride. Might wanna bring along an extra pair of pants for this one

AA 2.3 was the worst thing ever to come out any part of my body. I've said this about 40 times a minute for the last 6 months. I have to shower every 3 hours because I just can't get the stink off. It was bad. I've said it once more now. FA, get a clue and realize that everyone knows this, myself included, and repeating it is like saying "OMFG THE SKY IS NOT A ROLLADEX!!!1111!1!" So shh.

But realistically, what was wrong:
-Fighters didn't work
-FAVs were weird
-Probably a lot of other minor (from a modding, not gameplay perspective) things that could've been worked out in an hour of testing

What else. I should make unit icons... so that's about 3 hours from design to fully functional.

To make a new, polished version of AA would take 6 hours at most and would probably regain the usual 2/3 popularity within a week. The sick part is, I'm actually so busy I haven't even got 6 hours in an average week. Crazy, crazy... Wait till June. I've got 2 weeks of vacation coming up.

Meanwhile could this "AA v5" be killed? Removed from download pages or whatever, replaced with a notice that it was unofficial? Or at least, put "UNOFFICIAL" in the tile? It's important, if there's ever going to be another good version of AA. I'm missing the days when I could go online at any time and play an RTS that was designed around balance rather than release dates and eye candy.

Supreme Commander's got a lot of potential, but it's like Vista: it needs a major patch due to some fatal flaws. Aside from that, it's unbelievable how good the multiplayer system is. I've never seen anything like this. You push a button and you're literally already building your base within 20 seconds.

Anyways. Supreme Commander is so in need of a creative balance-only mod, it's just ripe... I've got about 20 pages of planning already down (written while I was at my job, "working" ^^)... epic stuff... I can't wait till June.

I'm hoping that if I can make a good demonstration, I'll get to work with them on the expansion pack. We all know it's coming.

I am Biased of course, but BA is @ least intended to be designed around balance. Some ppl are even complaining we don't do enough releases.... and that we should improve our gfx...

The last news update on CA was over 3 years ago, and it's the last best hope for RTS? We're ******.

And yes, I'm sure BA is very good. No sarcasm... It'd have to be, to get so many people playing. I just haven't had the opportunity to try it. And I'm terrified by one or two of the things I've seen in the changelog... but it's likely I'm just not seeing everything in perspective.

Ok. I've just been thinking about B5. That was a neat show. Don't judge it based on the... eh, first season. Or last season. Or TV movies. Damn you all...

I'm just being a jerk honestly... I'm tired and been trying to do eight things at once. So what's this CA thing? I've seen "CA" on TA sites for FOREVER. And that site doesn't even seem to have spring content of any kind based on the 3.5 seconds I glimpsed at it. Is there a progress report? A design document? Some glimmer of it existing outside of my worst nightmare of a TA-based mod besides AA (and allegedly BA) being decent on Spring? And more importantly, did any of you realize that those "1050 high carbon stainless steel" replica swords you can buy are actually CHEAPASS LOW GRADE GARBAGE STEEL WORTH NOTHING?! Serious! I work in a machine shop, that stuff isn't worthy of being called metal. It's called "medium carbon" steel. High carbon is like, 1090. Or something. I don't really know. But I saw it on a chart somewhere. Aside from that, there's some cool stuff on trueswords.com. I've been thinking about getting one. The question is, how do I get it across the border? I'd be arrested for sure. How do people actually manage to get CAUGHT smuggling drugs and stuff when there are SO MANY HOLES IN THE HUMAN BODY. Not to mention the cracks, crevices, and crannies. Does anyone know who "Nergal" is? I saw some guy calling himself that at some forum, possibly the SupCom one, but it sounds familiar, like from a game or something. I was thinking, maybe KOTOR, but I've memorized too much of that game not to be certain of it if I heard a KOTOR name. So maybe NWN, since that game was trash and I went through it as fast as I could. Only got one decent weapon. Some acid-dropping sword deal that wasn't really so hot after all. But while I was playing STALKER the other day, I was in this science place and I found a cupboard and it had this totally awesome sniper rifle in it, upgraded and everything. But I'm still wondering what I'm supposed to spend my money on, I've got over 400,000 woolongs or whatever those russian bucks are called. THERE'S NOTHING TO BUY!!! I want weapon mods, dammit. I'm a STALKER not a banker, dammit! HOOOLEEEY COW. Man, what a great line from H2G2. "Well that really bothers me! I mean, I'm pissed off! Matter of fact, I think I'm going to blow up this wall!", the robot said, blowing the bridge's wall into oblivion. "I mean, they send you, completely defenseless, to stop ME, a giant killing machine. That's positively low! Matter of fact, I'm going to blow up the this other wall, and the floor too!", he said, firing madly, before falling through the hole me'd made, cursing with surprise, "Hell's bells!" I messed it up completely, but that was a great book. Third one, I think. Maybe second? Probably third. I'm still depressed about Fenchurch. Fenchurch is Arthur Dent's soulmate in the fourth book of the Hitchhiker "trilogy", So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish. Fenchurch was named after the Fenchurch Street railway station where she was conceived in the ticket queue.
