Smoth, don't kid yourself. You ARE industry standard. Not exceptional, no, but there's many a studio that would hire you as a junior modeler. Why do you think I spent so much time bugging you to let me poke the gundam models so I could see how you did them?

Level 4/5 cannons. These turrets will be railguns/coilguns whatever, don't argue whether or not it is realistic, just an excuse to give them noexplode! As opposed to the earlier level cannons these can fire through targets. So I suspect they will have an interesting effect.
(856) for the TWO OF THEM!, powerline, this is efficient use of polies

Blackliger, I figured it was to expedite your work

Cool railguns, though noexplode is such a bugger to use.
He means there's many videos out there from master modelers (the kind everyone in the industry admires) and you're better off watching those.

Yeah, to industry standard levels

I asked my tutor his opinion of your work, he said you'd be able to get the junior modeler position at most companies.

interesting, I never really think that much of my work. It really isn't what I would consider good. I am missing something, trying to figure it out but I am not sure what it is :\.
itunes froze my computer transferring my songs to my ipod, so I lost all day waiting to let it finish, I had to hard reboot my machine which means I will not be finishing those models today. Sorry guys, I am not going to work on it again today, lan party tonight and smoth has to get his game on.
I may continue my work on it tonight after the lan party wiffles out.

I don't think I've seen you add corrosion and other forms of wear and tear to your textures, the only ones I've seen looked clean and shiny like a toy that wasn't introduced to the sandbox yet.

That always seemed intentional to me, KDR. It struck me as a stylistic feature, rather then an oversight.
And, TBH, it kind of sits well within Spring's world, because more often then not, the Spring maps are slightly unrealistic; the sky is a little too blue, the grass a little too green, the ground a little too contrived, so that by stylising his textures into a semi-real semi-cartoony grey area, they actually fit very nicely in the terrain, as opposed to the more realistically textured stuff.

And if you are going to attempt to insult me, the least you can do is my handle right, its not all that hard.

Photo realistic texture with corrosion dirt and wear are good for close up, but not so when the unit is small and seen from for away. Gritty grey texture make nice promotionnal close-up, but look like shit when seen from a regular RTS view (ie, above, fairly zoomed up). Smoth is the only one around here that has enough cartoonish exageration in his textures to make them look good even when they're few pixels on screen. They're unfit for when the whole screen is filled by one single unit, but perfect for a RTS where you have hundred of tiny units and need to effortlessly idendifiate each in a blink.

What you don't know is this is something we do about once a week every Friday. Everyone doesn't have classes the next day and they can meet easier after wrapping up their Friday classes. Hence we pretty much limit it to a one day time-frame because we all have work to do with either classes or, like myself, my job.
EDIT: Although my work can come with me when I take my machine to the LAN.

peh, I didn't go anyway, I was tired in need of rest and some alone time. Wanted to be a little anti-social so I stayed home

Sup man... I was wondering why you didn't show. Was some pretty good gaming going on... oh well, there will be other LAN games. You can bet on it.
You need to jump on AIM again... as my Gtalk use is somewhat reserved for when I'm working now.

The internet a series of tubes. Within these tubes travel the flow of misc. data of the interweb; including PM's, memes, 4chan images and forum posts. Within every tube a series of complex rails in which forum threads are on. These threads travel on rails passing through tubes to get to other users. Sometimes other users 'de'rail a thread by changing its complex course algorithim thuse changing the topic of the thread and causing the thread to go on a different rail through a different series of tubes. This then allows all hell to be posted before something is done. Sometimes the the rail or even the tube itself must be closed down to furthur prevent choas from mutating.
