:( I don't like divorces. I've seen very many of them occur while growing and breakups among people that I know in college. I also know of 2 women (not friends) who cheated on their husbands, no men who cheated on their wives, and only a few people in stable long term relationships. I've always thought that it was so sad when stuff like that happens.

It is sad, and mostly i think it happens, when the relationship (which may be looking way to perfect before the collapse) is imbalanced. That can be one side forcing a life-style upon the other side, or just simply both sides spend so much time together, that they annoy the relationship to death. Viewed from that perspective, part of swiftspears addwise were true.

Imagine, you try to invite oldtime friends for a reunion, and half of them wont show up, because they dont want to meet there divorced ex. Happy empty room celebrating.

:? Do you think that they may break up because they might not not know how to handle their significant other trying to kill themselves or something like that? There were a lot of people who were into knives where I grew up, so I think that that kind of thing is probably more common than most people would expect. *shrugs* They probably don't know how to get them to put the knife down. Swift did have some good advice.

Now that's what I call passionate, in a streetcar named desire sort of way. Better sleep with one eye open, just in case. Maybe best to wear an iron susp too.

scrotum you shouldn't put women on a pedestal, actually you are objectifying them in a way then. They are just people too, and usually much more earnest and kind than men. So having some girl friends(not the naughty kind) isn't a bad way to go. It's harder because girls usually have completely different interests, but say for instance you are a student, then it is easy to study with some girls and get to know them that way. Then maybe you hit it off with one and don't need to break your piggy bank on hookers anymore. Although you probably will have to break it sooner or later because any relationship you're gonna have will eventually leave you broke and miserable. Repeat that again for effect. Yes it's the age old experience of men that prompted the invention of the prenup and the cheap bastard syndrome.

I remembered that I do know of 2 guys who cheated on their wives. It was a very sad thing too, but guys can get along with ladies and not develop a relationship with them. Steven has plenty of friends who are female. It only got bad when I walked up and saw that one girl throw herself on him. Smoth pushed her off.

I haven't seen that play or movie, but it sounds boring. I'm going to go see Les Mis├®rables with Smoth once the theater in New Orleans is open again. He said that he wanted to take me to see it and I've never been there.

sounds like u need work on social skills

showing/developing intrest in people and ultimitly being able find some commen intrests, and maybe connect at some level, is the key.....and being friendly is very very important
i was haveing a discussion about this with my mother just recently and she told about about a book my grandmother used to read/carry around all the time by "dale carnegie"..check it out

i have persaonly not had good experiences about asking other people for help about these sorts of things...half the time it is usally the advice giver is just dumping his/her/its(?)/their frustrations on my lap(I have even had the person who I was asking the advice from abuse my vulnerability that naturally arises from that situation a couple of times in the past) and the other half that dose give genuine advice i am never truly able to usefully comprehend it.....it is only after the fact when i have already done it for my self and got a hold of it that i 'am able to truly put together what they ment, and by then it is too late....i'am not saying abstractions are useless, they are only good for interpreting your experiences as you go along not replacing ur experiences

Yup, very true, and it's sad how so many people can't see this. I get along better with girls in general, probably 'cause I like talking a lot but that's just how it is for me. That's why it's so frustrating that people think I have a thing for them or something when It's really not like that at all.

I just find girls easier to get on with and it's easier to talk about anything with them, rather than being limited to talking about games because that's all so many guys online want to talk about.

Admittedly, there is one girl that I talked to online so much that I did develop "a thing" for her, but even if that thing never worked out, we'd still be great friends and we'd still talk a lot. It probably helps that my persona is also slightly feminine I suppose :P

The book is to win friends and influence people, it comes in audio book form.

Nightcold you are quick to jump on people about your perception that they lack/need better social skills. I have not met a single human who has mastered the art of the social arena. Norms vary widely from group to group. So people are extremes sure, you have several here who need well defined realities, others who are of the mind that reality is a playground. You are imperfect as are we all, try to reduce the level with which you leverage that insult because no matter how well meaning it will come off as an insult

Truer words than most in this topic.
And then again how could you be happy if you never had any bumps along the road, you wouldn't know what to cherish.
