From next year on, I HAVE to vote with each election, or find a bill of 200 euros in my mailbox.

I'm old enough to vote, and I've done so at every election I've been able too. On top of that, I've also been a precinct official for every election I've been able to as well. I don't care much about political talk though, my opinion is more along the lines of "Would you please just stfu and vote instead?"

16 next month.

And I don't plan to go crazy and vote for something other than labour. Sure, Everyone hates Tony blair, but has he actually done anything to make my life better or worse?

20, and yes I vote, not that it means much. Sure I'd like to think that my liberal vote counts, but even on the off chance the liberals got in it's not like much would change.

To be perfectly honest it's more important that people do vote in general so that crazy ass partys like the BNP or veritas don't get anywhere, rather than there being any real difference in the major partys at the moment.

I voted Labour last year, but only because the Lib Dems would be a wasted vote, and Mr Howard teh evul vampire was in charge of the conservaties at the time :P

Right now i'd be torn between Labour and the Tories

(The Conservatives arn't extremists like the U.S. Republicans imo..)

Of course, if you pay attention to her policies, it quickly becomes apparent that she is pandering to the extremes to enter the circle of power, and doesn't seem to have any real goals as a politician aside from remaining one.

Voting earns you the right to bitch about the government in power. Especially if you didn't vote for the winner. If you don't ever vote, what right do you have to complain?

not voting is voting to, especially in a 2 party system :- I know I would've voted none of the above.
In fact someone should campaign for not voting when both parties suck instead of settling for the lesser of two evils you could stop them from picking one altogether.

It's usually a good idea to vote the lesser evil of the major parties.

If you're not going to vote for a major party anyway, why not pick a third party instead? Because your vote wouldn't make a difference? Well, there's probably thousands if not millions of people like you that don't like the major parties but don't vote for minor parties because it's "pointless", if all of them stood up and voted for their favourite party that party would at least make a significant dent in the statistics and maybe next round more people will vote for them instead of the less bad of the two major parties they already know. Vote third party, because somebody's gotta do it!

I'm not saying some people not voting because both parties suck accomplishes anything, but if enough people didn't vote the elections wouldn't count. That might shake things up a bit.

You have no idea what happened in Germany. People didn't go voting and now we have a female fuhrer.
