^^ What he said. Because team-color is not one of my favorite things about RTS games. It's so completely un-natural.

That's highly interesting. I spent half the day yesterday to figure out how DDS+alpha channels work, just to see in the end that team colours make the entire texture look stupid. Do the spheres display colour correctly when they're assigned to black background but have, lets say, 192 on the alpha channel?

I'd assume he uses 100% alpha on them which makes the team color replace the texture color completely.

Argh, I understand you... I HATE team colors, it just screws some units up so much... "Older" units, look okay with it... But the new stuff people are modelling, just no... :P

This was also driven off topic at about 10 post at most :P

I've never seen anybody make effective use of team colour. It's always as if they designed the unit then they plonked team colour on in big blccks, when it'd be better if the team colour was just a part of the design such as an array of lights, something you cant tell if every team colour is the same but becomes obvious when several coloured teams are in view.

The circles look good though.

why doesnt some one just cod ethe option of a team color selection box ie ground plate, it probably would have to be thicker tho, but that way you cold turn it off by deselcting and it wouldnt look funny

but you dont want to have to do ctrl+A to see which units are yours
