At the moment I am partial to Jefferson Airplane and The Doors mostly, but I have been known to listen to Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Steely Dan... oh what more? Yes, Velvet Underground, The Kristet Utseende (a Swedish band), some Grateful Dead and the one and only king of guitars, the lord himself Jimi Hendrix (amen).
Yeah, most of that music is older than I am. It's kind of become a policy of mine: music has to be made before I was born, otherwise I won't listen to it. Some exceptions occur, naturally, but only if it is really good (Steely Dan) or the lyrics are very nice (The Kristet Utseende).

3) Technoish (I don't own any CDs but I've heard some on Pandora.com)
4) "Old fashioned" classical
5) Johnny Cash
6) stuff that my parents listen to (from the 70s and 80s)
7) everythng else
8 ) pop
9) rap/hip hop (except that one song I heard once... It had a cool beat)
But didn't we like just have a thread about this?
Juno Reactor was 3rd back then.

Ra, Disturbed, Alter Bridge, any of the classics (The Who, etc)
Basically anything cept 95% of rap and all of country.
The best way to describe my collection is this:
My Itunes starts at 3 Doors Down and ends with ZZ Top

He looks like a zombie. And just like a zombie he should be dragged into the street and shot.
I'm not so big a fan of the brooding dark goth things like Marilyn Manson (I always thing its Marilyn Munro, but thats some thing completely different. I hope). As I said before: Weird Al, cause he's funny. I've also added on the Seatbelts (TANK!) because they have easy (TANK!) listening cool (TANK!) jazz (TANK!). They also have one of my fave jazz songs. Can you guess witch one it is. Here is a hint. Another word for it is Panzer.
And another band I do like is...those guys. You know...the one's who are world famous and are named after a bug...
The cockroaches! Those guys!

Marylin Manson's music is good, but just that fact that it is Marylin Manson that makes me feel like I'm blaspheming whenever I hear it.

Thats a good word. I neve knew blasphmy could be used as a verb...

Quoted Cuz he is like me, I forgot to say I hate all rap, except eminem, and maybe one or two others, and country is in the same rank

it's not that i hate rap, if its playing at a party or whatever im not gonna leave cause of it. Its just most rap makes me wanna stab myself in the ear with a pencil.
One of the few exceptions is the band Flipsyde, who did the music in the American commercials for the last Olympic. It isn't normal rap some would argue but bah like i care.

My favorite joke about rap is from Family Guy:
[Peter listening to Police Radio thingy]
"Gang war in progress. Three dead, two injured."
Brian:"What, is rap getting lazy?"

+1
Mobscene is one of his best songs imo.
+1 on the stab-out-eariness of rap.
-1 on eminem.

Ya, I like Marilyn Manson because he dresses like a shemale too! Oh wait, no, that's not the reason I like him at all >_<
Marylin Manson is a massively talented composer, probably more so then most musicians in his genre. IMO he just tries a little too hard to be anti culture and offensive. If he lives that long he'll probably be one of the more prominent musicians in the world in his older age when he's taken a few more bumps and learned that sometimes honey attracts more flies then vinegar. The seethy crude music that he produces in his current dark and brooding persona is so below what he could be capable with more tolerance to a neutral perspective.
The resident evil movie score is clear evidence to how expertly the man can hit a soundtrack when he tries.

Yeah, that's my feeling on it as well. As far as musical talent, especially the composing side of it, Manson is amazing.
The only problem is he lets trying to offend people get in the way of making good music. I love some of his stuff, some of it he succeeds in offending me.

Anyone think the top picture makes him look like Q?
He looks like Q in that shot, but thats mostly becasue he's blurry. The lower picture is something I would rather...not see.
Ever.
