Vietnam..let's say I just didn't like it
BF2 was by far the worst. Bugs, bugs, bugs, screwed GF4 owners for money, terrible balancing, stupid controls. And every goddamn idiot could fly a chopper :s
Finally a like-minded person! Lemme tell you, I could fly a chopper like an ace too. Granted, I spent most of the time playing only against the crappy bots who couldn't aim even if their lives depended on it (literally...

), but that doesn't mean I couldn't pull off impossible maneuvers (ie, remaining 5 feet above the ground while moving to the left at 200 mph, going up a mountain and down the other side, while destroying 3 tanks and a platoon of infantry while also dodging a dozen Stingers and anti-air fire)... man that was fun. As disappointing as many parts of BF2 were, I'd still have a great time playing it if choppers weren't so dumbed-down.

It's gonna be a tough competition, since there's also QuakeWars and UT2k7 coming too.
UT2k4 was great for FPS-junkies - the action was hyperfast, the vehicles were incredibly easy to pilot, and the game let players be both individualistic and team-oriented, allowing it to thrive in both clan and pub environments. The only vehicle that _required_ a gunner is the Hellbender, which was primarily a defensive unit, so it often made sense to just drive the thing into position and use it as a turret (although the Cicada was a little useless if the gunner wasn't there to launch anti-avril flares). And Onslaught mode was a good ripoff of the Tribes/BF style of sector control.
So BF2142 won't be alone - the competition for FPS teamgames is gonna be tight.
