Installing official MinGW is the hell, they don't seem to pay much attention to their installer/package downloads anymore since there is TDM. So it is extremely recommended to use the TDM webinstaller (you can even install the official MinGW package via it!).

I just did it a minute ago and it's super easy? Although there isn't very fine control over which packages are installed if using the GUI installer, but for Spring all you have to do is make sure to tick c++ compiler.

just.. please make sure you add that to the wiki then!
theres no use in everyone repeating how easy it is, but leaving the complicated/wrong instructions in the wiki!

jk updated the wiki with instructions to use tdm build, seen as that no longer requires grabbing the collect2 from here, it's probably best to just leave it at that?
